Rachel

Veterinary Technician

Rachel is a Certified Veterinary Technician who graduated with a degree from Madison College (formerly MATC). After working at a specialty emergency practice in Madison, she joined the Cat Care Clinic team in 2012. Rachel prides herself in providing compassionate care for cats and guidance to their owners. She also has special interest and skills with art and social media and championed development of our fun CCC Calendar projects.

Five pampered cats get most of Rachel’s down time; Magneto, a sensitive and intelligent pure white boy with different colored eyes, Chica, a lynx-point pampered princess, Cindy-Lou, the spunky “cali-tortie”, Sriracha, a black torti, and Winry, a beautiful tortoiseshell, who came to Rachel with two broken legs, and made a miraculous recovery to take her place as “top cat”. Rachel bonds with her cats and gives them confidence and enrichment with clicker-training. She’s always happy to share tips on this, so just ask! Rachel’s other hobbies include hiking, fishing, arts and crafts, aquariums, scuba diving, and horseback riding with her Tennessee Walking Horse named “Blackavar” aka Smokey. Rachel often fosters cats in need and finds loving homes for them.

“I’ve been fascinated with cats for as long as I remember; even as a little girl I would bring home stray cats and kittens that needed a rescue. They are just such dynamic, magnificent, graceful, independent, affectionate, and mysterious creatures… I can’t think of anything about them that I don’t love!” Of course, Rachel loves ALL cats, “especially a cat with a mischievous streak!”
