Dr.Gallagher is one more of our fantastic cat-devoted Madison-area native veterinarians! He grew up close by in Sun Prairie, graduated from Sun Prairie High School, and then spent his undergraduate days in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at Coe College. There he majored in Biology, Neuroscience, and Chemistry. He moved back to Wisconsin to attend the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, and is happy to continue calling Madison his home.
As a child, Dr.Gallagher only had an occasional fish as a pet. He was always eager to go to his friend’s homes to see their cats and dogs….he’s not sure if he was more excited to see his friends or the pets! He later learned more about animal care and welfare while interning at the Dane County Humane Society’s wildlife center, where he developed a great appreciation for ducks and turtles!
Now Dr.Gallagher is happy being a devoted cat-person. He has three cats of his own, Bear (7 year old orange tabby), Goose (a 3 year old back female), and Tuna (a 2 year old female grey tabby). They are his best friends. Bear was his first, and after adopting him in college he completely fell in love with cats.
When not working or taking care of his three cats, Dr.Gallagher’s favorite activity is … afternoon naps with his cats! He also loves playing videogames and enjoys summertime margaritas. He also loves birdwatching and has even led field trips across several Madison parks in the past.
What does Dr.Gallagher love about Cat Care Clinic? Simply being surrounded by cat people. He loves constantly learning new things from the CCC team. He’s continually inspired by the bond our clients share with their cats.
His tips for cat people?
“If you want to sleep soundly through the night, sometimes you have to give your cats an extra meal”.

“Never worry about that weird noise in your house unless your cats are also worried.”
