Suzy grew up both here in Madison and also in the beautiful city of Lima, Peru, where part of her family is from. Ever since getting her first pet, a black kitten named Otis found in a scrapyard, her life has been centered around animals. In addition to cats and dogs, she and her family also have a wide variety of farm and exotic animals, including alpacas and 35-year-old tortoises! Outside of her love for animals, Suzy loves watching British TV shows, scuba diving, cooking, and knitting.
Suzy attended Princeton University in New Jersey, studying ecology, evolutionary biology, and environmental studies. She hopes to become a public health veterinarian in the future. While her previous veterinary experiences focused on wildlife and exotics, her experience at an exotics-only practice showed her the value of species-specific care. This is why she is enthused to be working at the Cat Care Clinic, where she’s been a long-time client with her own two cats….and everyone and everything revolves around cats!
