Mark grew up in Ottawa, IL, known as “The town of two rivers”. He is well traveled, having lived in Kentucky, Florida, Colorado, Montana, and even Ballygowan in Northern Ireland for a time. After all of that, he moved here to Madison where he has resided for almost a decade. Mark has been to Ireland several times, and is currently learning to speak Irish. He even owns a surprisingly small piece of land in Co. Roscommon in the Republic of Ireland!
Currently Mark is chipping away at a bachelor’s degree in English, after achieving his associate degree in Sound Engineering. In his downtime he enjoys writing literary fiction and spending time with his two orange and white tabby boys, his best buddy Tank and snuggable Oliver. He also has an absurdly spastic Golden Doodle named Nora.
Mark collects, repairs, and restores manual typewriters, which he often uses when writing fiction. He is also an amateur musician, favoring classical guitar (which he studied at university) and the Úd (a Middle Eastern string instrument). Mark also enjoys downhill skiing, mountaineering, and reading when he gets the chance.
What does Mark have to say about the Cat Care Clinic? “The CCC seems more like a cat lovers club than a place of business, and our clients are the greatest! They are looking out for our furry friends.” As for words of wisdom, Mark defers to Ernest Hemingway who said that “one cat just leads to another.”
