We are one of the approximately 12 percent of all small animal veterinary
hospitals in the United States and Canada to be accredited by the
American
Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Hospitals that are accredited by the
AAHA meet high veterinary care standards. Each hospital voluntarily
completes a detailed evaluation of its services and equipment. Then a
trained practice consultant thoroughly inspects the hospital to make sure it
meets AAHA's high standards in the areas of:
- Pain management
- Dentistry
- Patient care
- Surgery and anesthesia
- Contagious disease protocols
- Radiology services
- Laboratory services
- Pharmacy
- Emergency services
- Client service
- Staff continuing education and training
- Human resources and leadership
- Patient and staff safety
- Pet medical records
- Examination facilities and equipment
- Housekeeping and maintenance
American Board of Veterinary Practitioners AccreditationThe American Board of Veterinary Practitioners is accredited by the
American Veterinary Medical Association to provide board certifications in
nine species categories, including Feline. Dr. Ilona Rodan was one of 4
veterinarians who advocated for and helped ABVP develop the Feline
Specialty. She has been certified in the feline specialty since it's first
examination in 1995, recertifying in 2005. Dr. Rodan was the first and only
feline mentor to date, and Dr. Miller the only feline specialist to
complete a two year ABVP approved residency training program under Dr.
Rodan. Dr. Miller has been ABVP certified since 2002. Drs. Rodan and
Miller are the only 2 board-certified feline practitioners in the states of
Wisconsin and Minnesota.
